Periods and the current-time marker use Taipei time.
The day stem determines the hour stems, beginning at the Zi period: From 甲己: 甲子、From 乙庚: 丙子、From 丙辛: 戊子、From 丁壬: 庚子、From 戊癸: 壬子. Today's day stem is 丙 , so the Zi period is 戊子 , continuing through the Hai period 己亥。
This calculator uses the late-Zi convention: after 23:00 the day stem stays the same. Both 00:00–00:59 and 23:00–23:59 therefore use 戊子 . A calendar that changes the day at 23:00 uses the next day's stem instead. For the difference, see The Zi hour and the day boundary. For hour-stem rules and the sixty-pair cycle, see Stem–branch reference table。
For someone born today, the day pillar is 丙子 and the hour pillar is shown above. Year and month pillars usually match the summary, except at exact solar-term transitions. A full birth chart also applies local solar-time correction, so use the result from Child's chartor BaZi calculator for births close to a boundary.
Today's calendar pillars: 2026-10-29
In Taipei time, today has year pillar 丙午, month pillar 戊戌, and day pillar 丙子 (lunar month 9, day 20 (九月二十)). The day stem is 丙 , associated with Fire 火. The current solar term is Cold Dew 寒露 (from 10/8); the next is Start of Winter 立冬 on 11/7 — 9 days away. BaZi years change at Start of Spring and months change at solar terms. Lunar months follow the Moon, so their boundaries differ. For the annual calendar, see Gregorian and lunar calendar reference。
The daily clash follows the opposing branch pair. Today's day branch is 子 , so its traditional clash is Horse 馬 . The caution direction follows the day's traditional three-branch group: south for Shen–Zi–Chen, north for Yin–Wu–Xu, east for Si–You–Chou, and west for Hai–Mao–Wei. This tool does not calculate daily auspicious activities or the full almanac spirit system.
For how year, month, and day pillars follow the sixty-pair cycle, see Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches. For supporting and restraining Five Element relationships, see The Five Elements。
The relation between today's stem and your Day Master gives today's Ten Gods category. See The Ten Gods explained. For Day Master strength, see Day Master strength。
Day-stem element and day-pillar Nayin
The day-stem element comes from the day's heavenly stem. Nayin uses the full stem–branch pair. These are separate systems and may give different elements.
- Year pillar丙午
- Celestial river water 天河水
- Month pillar戊戌
- Plain-land wood 平地木
- Day pillar丙子
- Water below a ravine 澗下水
Today's day pillar 丙子 has the Na Yin designation Water below a ravine 澗下水 , assigned to Water 水 . Na Yin groups the sixty stem–branch pairs into thirty traditional names and elements. It is a separate classification from the stem's own element. Today’s day stem 丙 is associated with Fire 火, while the day pillar’s Nayin element is Water 水. The two systems do not always give the same element.。
Zi Wei also uses Na Yin to determine the Five Element configuration from the Life Palace's stem–branch pair. For example, Water gives Water 2 and Wood gives Wood 3. See The Five Element configurations。
How your daily outlook is calculated
The Day Master is the heavenly stem of your birth day. Every day also has a stem–branch pair. Traditional Five Element relationships between the two provide a symbolic framework for describing support, expression, and pressure in the day's themes.
The calculation also compares your birth-day branch with today's branch for a traditional combination or clash. This contributes particularly to relationship themes and can distinguish people who share the same Day Master.
The chart uses the same engine as BaZi calculator: years change at Start of Spring, months follow solar terms, and birth times receive local apparent-solar-time correction. The daily outlook and your birth chart therefore use the same calculation rules.
Use the outlook as a reminder, not a prediction. A low score does not mean the day must go badly, and a high score does not replace preparation. Choices and circumstances still shape outcomes.
