Privacy policy

What this policy covers

This policy explains the information MingLiMR (minglimr.com, “the site”) processes when you use its chart and interpretation services, how it is used, the service providers involved, and your choices.

Information we collect

The information processed depends on the features you use:

  • Birth details: your birth date, time, place, gender and name are inputs for chart calculation. Guest inputs stay in browser storage and are not saved to our database. When signed in, a completed interpretation and its chart are saved automatically; you can also save a chart manually. Saved records can be deleted in your account.
  • Two-person chart invitations: when you create an invitation, your birth details are encrypted in the URL, readable only by the site, and expire after seven days. The server does not retain the invitation link. The recipient enters their own details in their browser; those details are not sent back to you or saved to our database through the invitation.
  • Former matching waitlist: chart matching no longer accepts registrations. Existing account identifiers and registration times are retained, without being used for new matches or shared with other users. You can contact us to request deletion.
  • Private sharing: a new private share contains an interpretation summary and its type, without the original birth details or account name. Anyone holding the link can view it, so review the summary before sharing. The public card feed has closed. Historical tags, optional questions and existing links remain, but are no longer listed in a public feed or newly selected for reposting on official social accounts. Contact us to remove a link or a previously reposted item.
  • Account information: your email and display name. Google sign-in also supplies an account identifier and profile-image URL. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes and cannot be recovered by us.
  • Saved charts and interpretations: chart results, questions and interpretation text that are saved automatically or at your request.
  • People and bookmarks: when you associate a reading with a person, we save that association. A bookmark stores the selected excerpt, section and original location so you can return to it after signing in. These are private. Removing an association or bookmark does not delete the chart; deleting its source chart also removes related associations and bookmarks.
  • Service usage: request time, model, token usage and cost, response status and IP address. IP addresses support guest usage-limit counting, rather than other uses.
  • Feedback: ratings and comments you choose to submit.
  • Private issues and suggestions: text you submit, feature categories, additional comments and handling records, used by you and administrators to follow up and improve the service. These are not published. Reports do not automatically include charts, conversations or complete URLs. Please leave out passwords and unnecessary personal information.
  • Tutorial preferences: completed or skipped tutorial versions and whether you have disabled proactive prompts. Guest preferences stay in your browser; member preferences are saved to your account for use across devices. They do not contain a click-by-click history or your form inputs.
  • Browsing statistics: pages visited, features used, browser and device type. These events do not include birth details, questions, interpretation text or your account identifier.
  • Acquisition information: the referring domain, such as google.com, campaign UTM parameters, your first page, and any optional answer about how you found the site. We do not record the complete referring URL or search terms for this purpose.

How information is used

  • Calculate charts and generate interpretations.
  • Maintain your sign-in and saved account records.
  • Apply daily free-use limits to prevent abuse and uncontrolled costs.
  • Measure overall usage and quality to improve interpretations.
  • Understand how new members find the site and assess promotion.

We do not sell your personal information or use birth details for advertising or provide them to third parties for marketing.

Service providers

  • Anthropic: chart results and your questions are sent to the Claude language model to generate interpretations. This does not include your email or account identifier.
  • Vercel: hosts the site, handles requests and keeps ordinary server access logs.
  • Neon: stores the account, chart and usage data described above.
  • Google sign-in: when you choose it, verifies identity and supplies your email and display name.
  • Google Analytics: helps measure page and feature use and acquisition channels. Events exclude account identifiers, email, birth details and interpretation content. Google signals are disabled; analytics are not used for advertising or linked to a Google Ads account.

Cookies and browser storage

Essential cookies maintain sign-in. Guest birth inputs and completed interpretations use sessionStorage for the current tab. That stored copy is not sent to the server merely because it is stored; saving it to an account after sign-in sends the reading to your account. Closing the tab clears sessionStorage.

The recent-chart shortcut, ml_last_result, is also stored in that tab for up to 14 days and can be cleared from the home page. Unsent form and follow-up drafts are kept in the tab for up to 24 hours. Signing out or switching accounts clears the relevant private local data. Records already saved to an account remain available after sign-in.

Only choosing “Save account draft” saves that tool’s draft to your account for another device. There is one draft per tool, recoverable for 30 days and deletable at any time. Expired content is removed on a later read or weekly cleanup. Empty version markers remain until account deletion to prevent an older device from restoring a deleted draft. Saved readings also sync a content fingerprint and section number for reading continuity, rather than another full copy of the text; these markers are removed with the chart or account.

Choosing to remember birth details on this device saves those details in localStorage. Unchecking or clearing the option removes them. Device memory itself is not uploaded.

If you register by email from a result page, ml_verify_return temporarily stores that chart’s inputs—or a Liu Yao question and cast result—in localStorage on this device so you can return after email verification. It is not uploaded, is removed on return, and expires after 48 hours if unused.

Guest trials set ml_gt to record the trial’s reading identifier and recognize whether this browser has used its trial. It contains no personal details and expires after about 400 days.

Analytics use cookies beginning with _ga. The site also uses ml_vid, a browser-generated random identifier for tool results, resume-entry views and clicks, saving, sharing and rating, for 180 days; ml_ref, identifying a shared card that brought you to the site, for 30 days; and ml_ft, recording the first referring domain, UTM parameters and landing page and attached at registration, for 90 days. They are not used for advertising.

The site also records when a saved record is opened and whether this occurs on a later calendar day. Signed-in events may be linked to your account and the internal record identifier to avoid duplicate counts. These journey events do not add copies of names, birth details, questions or interpretation text. Internal record identifiers are not sent to Google.

You can install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on to disable Google Analytics without disabling site features. This does not disable the site’s own action records; contact us using the details below to request that we stop processing those records.

Retention

Account and chart records are retained while your account exists. You can delete individual charts from your account, removing them from the database. Usage logs, including IP addresses, are retained for operational quota and cost auditing needs. Google Analytics data are automatically deleted after 14 months; the site’s anonymous action events are scheduled for deletion after 180 days.

Account deletion also removes your tutorial preferences and private report text and comments. Necessary records of point transactions and administrative actions follow the existing retention rules; administrative audit records do not keep a copy of your report text.

Your choices and rights

You can request access, correction, a copy or deletion of personal information, ask us to stop processing it, or request account deletion. Some actions are available in your account; email us for the others. We will respond within a reasonable period.

Nature of interpretations

Software calculates charts using traditional methods, and a language model generates interpretation text from those results. The content is for reflection and reference. It is not medical, legal, financial or investment advice and should not be your sole basis for a major decision.

Policy changes

Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Please review this page periodically.
