Common questions
- How is a chart different from an interpretation?
- A chart calculates the Four Pillars of BaZi or the twelve Zi Wei palaces from your birth details. Calculation is permanently free, with no account required. Interpretation text is generated by a language model using that chart; it is not written individually by a human practitioner. Interpretations use the daily free allowance. Our methods page explains the process and its limitations.
- Why is the chart's birth time different from what I entered?
- The site adjusts the birth location's local clock time to true solar time using longitude and the equation of time. This can change the hour pillar. The adjustment in minutes is shown with the input and chart results. Enter the local clock time recorded at birth; do not convert an overseas birth to Taiwan time yourself.
- How does the free allowance work?
- Guests can try one interpretation per browser; a follow-up also counts as one use. After registering and verifying your email, you receive daily free uses, resetting at midnight in Taipei. The remaining allowance appears at the top of the page.
- What if the verification email does not arrive?
- The subject is “MingLiMR: verify your email to start reading”. Delivery may take a few minutes. Check spam and, in Gmail, Promotions. After signing in, the verification notice in your account lets you resend the email or correct a mistyped address. New users can register through Google without a separate verification email. An account already registered by email must be verified before Google can be linked to the same account.
- Can I delete my saved charts?
- Yes. Each entry on your account's Readings page can be deleted individually. Deleting an entry removes it from the database.
- Should I base important decisions on an interpretation?
- Interpretations are for reflection and reference. They are not medical, legal, financial or investment advice. Where a traditional assessment is borderline or the method cannot reliably give an answer, the site uses qualified language rather than presenting certainty.
